Who is responsible
MyTravelHelper is run by Marcus Eriksson in Sweden, who is responsible for your data. Write to [email protected] about anything on this page.
What we store
When you sign up for news, we store your email address, the language you read the page in, and when you signed up, confirmed or left. That is all. We don't ask for your name, and we don't build a profile of you.
Why we store it
To email you when the app launches, and now and then with news about MyTravelHelper itself, such as new features or subscription plans. Nothing about other companies' products. Your address is never sold or shared with anyone for their marketing.
The legal basis is your consent (GDPR article 6.1 a), which you give by pressing the link in the confirmation email. An address that is never confirmed gets no more mail.
How long we keep it
Until you leave the list. Unconfirmed addresses are deleted automatically once the confirmation link expires, after 7 days. If you leave, your address is deleted for good within 30 days; until then it is kept only so a mistaken click can be undone.
Messages you send
If you write with the Feedback form, we store your email address, what you wrote and what it is about, the language and the page you sent it from, and when. It is mailed to the admins so we can answer you, and kept until it has been dealt with, and a year at most. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering you and improving MyTravelHelper (GDPR article 6.1 f). Nothing you send is used for marketing.
Who helps us
A few companies handle data on our behalf, under data processing agreements:
- GleSYS (Sweden) runs the server where the list is stored.
- Resend sends the emails, from servers in the EU (Ireland).
- Cloudflare delivers the website and protects it from attacks, and so sees your IP address when you visit. When you sign up, its Turnstile check also looks at your browser, to tell a person from a bot.
Resend and Cloudflare are American companies. Where data may reach the US, the transfer is covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the EU's standard contractual clauses.
Cookies and tracking
None. There are no cookies, no analytics and no ads on this site, and the emails contain no tracking. Your choice of language and light or dark mode is saved only in your own browser. The fonts are served from our own server, so no font company sees your visit.
The server keeps short technical logs, including IP addresses, to stop abuse such as someone filling in the form automatically. They are rotated away within days.
Your rights
You can leave the list at any time with the link at the bottom of every email. You can also ask to see what we store about you, have it corrected or deleted, or take it with you: write to [email protected] and you'll get an answer within a month.
If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, IMY, or to the data protection authority where you live.
Changes
When the app launches, it will need more data than an email address, and this page will be updated before that happens. If a change affects what we do with your address, we'll tell you by email first.
